About Us
Banstead Downs Lawn Tennis Club is a welcoming, community-focused club offering high-quality tennis for players of all ages and abilities. With six floodlit courts, a spacious clubhouse, changing facilities, free parking and a relaxed bar area, we provide a year-round environment where members can play, socialise and feel at home.
We're proud to have a thriving junior section, with children of all ages enjoying coaching, social play and our hugely popular Friday Junior Club Night. Alongside our junior programme, we offer adult social sessions, competitive opportunities, holiday camps, and a full calendar of events throughout the year.
History
Founded in 1933 by a group of local residents, Banstead Downs Lawn Tennis Club has grown from a single rented court on Banstead Downs into a thriving community club with modern facilities, a strong junior programme and a proud record of competitive and social tennis.
Over the decades, the Club has moved home, built new courts, expanded its clubhouse, developed floodlit facilities and continued to evolve with the addition of pickleball and new padel courts. While much has changed since those early days, the spirit of the Club remains the same: friendly, welcoming and rooted in the local community.
